Labels on rare collections (books, manuscripts, documents, photo albums, etc.) are often glued directly onto these objects. Over time, this can cause damage to the original binding materials, and in most cases, this damage is irreversible. In this blog, I will share my experiences from the past few years of thinking about and experimenting with ways to deal with these labels on rare book collections. Clean off the old glue from the spine

For rare books restoration and conservation purpose; in many cases, spine lining, and animal glue should be removed (cleaned off) completely, in order to restore and conserve the sewing or the spine. Several techniques are used for loosening and clean off old glue from spines. Be careful when you clean off the animal glue from the book spine. During last few months I was searching and collecting Endbands (Headbands) images. trying to classifying those images according to the headband period and technique, or according to its name. But recently there is a lot of debates about the Endbands codicological terms and names, some conservators say that the number of different endbands and different variations of endbands is s o great that another system of classification and naming needs to be devised.
